Just come across this poster Renee Zellweger’s up and coming movie. I have to say I like the line up of the cast, Chris Noth and Eric McCormack = good times. I love Mr Big, haha.

Taken aside from films, this is a very sad day for football. For Newcastle United, and fans of football around the Country and across the world.
He was a true gentleman of the game and just a joy to listen to and watch.
I was there the day he became Newcastle manager and it was so an occasion. I started going to games in his era and it was fantastic.

The first thing you think before seeing this movie is . . . Johnny Depp . . . Christian Bale . . . Marion Cotillard. It really should be fantastic. I said should be, as I did not find it fantastic it was ok but not the best recent film I have seen. Johnny Depp as always put in a great performance, he really can be any type of character. Christian Bale was not in it enough to make a bigger impact (in my opinion) he did not really seem to have many lines and more just been on the screen. Marion Cotillard I thought was great, she was so believable and just seemed to real.
With it being in the early 1930’s in Chicago while the great depression was 4 years in (yes, I read the words at the start and actually remembered that fact). I could not help my “Chicago” the musical geekyness to stay hidden as every mention of Cook County Jail and J. Edgar Hoover . . . yes I do know “Chicago” way too much. But those little things made me smile.
I do love that time period of the late 1920’s then early 1930’s I just love the whole style and way the people used to act (or the way we think people used to act). I found this movie very strange in parts, in the way that it seemed to have some plot holes as I thought I was paying full attention. But I guess for a few seconds I got confused as I thought two different characters were the same one (that does sound bad, but they had the same hair style).
I have been trying to think of different movies to compare this too. I think in more recent cinema “American Gangster” comes to mind. With the cop/criminal chase going on. But I guess it is a different time period. I cannot really explain what was missing from this movie. But I definatly thought something was missing.

Totally different, were my first thoughts after the movie finished. Having the main character not really saying anything apart from Wall-e or Eve . . . hence the reason it took more just about a year to eventually decide to watch it. (Yes I was curious as had heard so much about this movie).
Earth was not liveable for the human population for like 700 years, Wall-e was a robot who had to tidy up the Earth. Everything was going ok for Wall-e he was just doing his job cleaning up. Until one day Eve came along and nothing was the same again for Wall-e.
One of the taglines for this film was “After 700 years of doing what he was built for – he’ll discover what he’s meant for.” and in the trailer something is mentioned about them being wired differently. Its the whole opposites attract love story in robot form which has some just lovely moments (not really something you would ususally expect in an animated movie).
I have to admit I was kinda wondering what happened to the humans, but that question was quickly answered that they were on a ship sailing around space until the Earth was save to go back too. After 700 years of doing nothing human’s had become extremly obese as they used to just lie in their chairs all day every day. Which you could imagine a lot of people doing so that slightly amused me. Wall-e ended up on the ship after following Eve who had been taken back after finding a plant, proving it is possibly for things to grow on Earth again, hence it being safe to travel back and live there again.
I just think its so lovely when Eve realises it is Wall-e when they see each other for the first time on the ship. They both help the captain to make sure the plant is placed where it needs to be to send the ship back to Earth. But this comes at a cost as Wall-E starts to fall to pieces, and is broken. I really hated Disney for like 5 minutes when I thought that was it for Wall-e and then I hated them even more when Eve fixed him but he did not know who she was, that really broke my heart so much. But thanks Disney for deciding that was only a very short term thing and he remembered who she was, as I really was like OMG I cannot believe they have done that and felt so sad as he did not respond at all. (Sounds really random to be saying that about robots but believe me watch the film).
Overall, I did enjoy it even if I did hate Disney for those 5 minutes as I thought it was going to be such a tragic ending afterall they had been through together. But it was interesting having so many robots and them doing everything for the humans.
Just come across the first poster for New York, I Love You. A new romantic movie, which I think will just be great . . . yes I love NYC and Orlando is in it . . . haha I am sold for those very two reasons.

Lets start off by saying that yes I do enjoy romantic comedies (even if you know how its going to end up). This was no different really, it could have ended up doing the same damage which “He’s Just Not That Into You” done to me but it did not. Both men and women had very good points in this movie. Both of which are quite often true.
Gerard Butler was as gorgeous and charming as ever, even if some of the things he was telling women about men were hard to hear, on the most part it was all the truth. Katherine Heigl is really going for it in the romantic comedy genre, after “Knocked Up” and “27 Dresses” and now “The Ugly Truth” her character’s seem to be very similar in all of these movies. Concentrated on her career instead of men and a family. But she does do this very well. I thought they had good chemistry between the pair, in the arguments and then passion in the first kiss.
So the age old argument of what women want and what men want are two totally different things? I don’t think thats completly true, and this movie made that point as well. Sometimes men just want sex, but so do women. Sometimes women want love, and so do men. I think you just have to hope that when you want love, being a man or a woman you have to hope the person you want that with, also wants love and not just sex. That is definatly where the problem’s lie in my opinion. I think this film demonstrated just that (maybe not at the start, but towards the end). That a man might be bitter and twisted because a woman broke his heart, or many women.
This film was enjoyable, with some very amusing lines and moments (yes, as you would expect for a comedy). While of course it is not the best film ever made I think it totally fits its purpose of being a comedy and there for people to enjoy it. I certainly enjoyed it. (Yes I do like Gerard Butler, a lot but Eric Winter was also gorgeous).
I have just started working on my list of my favorite 250 films. I have no idea how long it is going to take, but I am guessing that it is going to be a long project. As I only have 4o written down at the moment and then I will have the difficult task of putting them in order, well the top 10 maybe alright, but then the rest is going to be difficult. I need to figure out some kind of way to help order them. Like a framework, I was thinking of: acting in the film, storyline, favorite lines, favorite moments . . . any more suggestions to help me out?
With being a huge fan of Kevin Spacey I am still really looking forward to this movie. Been looking at somethings about it today and came across some pictures.

I really do think this is going to be another great Spacey performance !!!
You can now become a fan of this blog on facebook
Just realised that I have not posted the first view stills that have been release for New Moon . . . so here they are . . .

Here is the first poster for the new Nightmare on Elm Street film which is due for release next year.

DiCarprio . . . Scorsese . . . Its going to be good !!!

I have not decided whether or not I am looking forward to this film . . .

Different, strange, odd, bizarre are all words which could be used to describe this film but I am going to use brilliant! Yes it is very different to pretty much anything that I have seen before, but it was just so incredible in my opinion. Parts of it were a little odd and out of this world, but I really thought that was the whole point. Its so visually striking and very cleverly written, to include a lot of different songs by The Beatles. In a way of telling a very nice story.
So the centre of the story is around Jude a man from Liverpool who heads to America to find his father of whom he had never met. That does not really work out but he meets Max who he becomes friends with and he meets his sister Lucy. Yes they do fall very much in love. But a lot of different factors are around to make it more difficult for them to be together. The story is all set in the 1960’s when the Vietnam war was going on.
The way each musical number is worked into the story was just incredible. With the two main character’s being named Jude and Lucy, you can just tell which songs those are based on and just know they are going to be in the film at some point but its interesting to see how they are going to appear in it. I think the “Hey Jude” part was joint favorite with “All You Need Is Love” with “Little Help From My Friends” closely behind those. Just incredible.
I was really lost for words whilst watching this movie, but I can imagine not many people I know even getting past the first 10 minutes of this movie. I would say yes you have to kinda like musicals to watch this but you don’t need to love them, as it is a totally different take on them. I would like to say it is kinda on the lines of Moulin Rouge for not having any original songs (yes I know MR has one) . . . and reworking well known and well loved music, to place it all in a different context.
I bet “The Beatles” while writing their songs which are so loved never in a million years would have thought 40+ years later that they could be arranged like this to make sure an amazing story. I really liked Bono’s appearance in what I would defiantly call a major dream sequence, and exactly how I would have expected the 60’s to be with all the colour and just wackiness. Also Eddie Izzard, who I had no idea was in this. Was just brilliant in his bizarre musical number, fantastic!
Again I have to thank good old netflix for allowing me to watch this. While I can vaguely remember hearing a little about a movie with Beatles songs in it . . . I did not realise how brilliant it would be. So again something I probably would never have seen if it was not for watch instantly on netflix. (Yes I do love netflix and I am not ashamed to admit it.)
I do not know if I would really recommend this movie to many people, as it is so different and off the page. I would not want someone to watch and just not get it. But if you are willing to watch something very different and be open minded about it, then go for it! If not then stay away. I for one am now a big fan of this movie.
Just come across some new pictures from Iron Man 2

I really cannot wait for this movie to come out, is it next year yet?
I have just read that from September Jude Law is bringing Hamlet to Broadway !!! I think he got pretty mixed reviews in the West End, but still some very good praise. Yes this does mean I hope to hit Broadway again in September !!!

I never really fancied this when it was released in the cinema last year, but after hearing a lot of mixed things about it (and an ever growing fondness of James Franco). I decided to give it ago and watch “Pineapple Express” and it is by no means the best comedy movie I have ever seen. But it did get me laughing at certain points mainly because of how random a lot of it was. Yes, it is mainly a movie based on weed . . . or the problems that occured all because of the weed known as pineapple express.
I really thought James Franco was just fantastic in this movie, he really is becoming an actor of whom I cannot wait to watch more of his movies. The older ones I have missed out on and the ones which will be released in the near future. I just think he is really going to be just fantastic in a few years as he is showing that potential to do different things now.
I am still not in the Seth Rogan fan club, as in nearly every movie I have seen him in he plays the same type of character. Maybe he is just like this in real life? I would really like to see him do a different type of character just to see if my opinion of him can be changed.
I liked the change in pace of the story, going from comedy to thriller/action which worked pretty well. But I do think James Franco influenced my liking of this movie. I really could just sit and watch him all day, and I am not the biggest fan of long hair on a man but would let him get away with it.
Ok . . . this has turned into a James Franco love in rather than a review of this movie.
I would say this is a very soild cast line up.

Another new type of post that I am going to start doing is looking at different locations to see which movies are set in this location and how popular it is in terms of movies. Plus different events which occur in this movies.
So far the list of locations is:
Again any suggestions are appreciated
